At its creation, Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) was originally know as the Richmond Professional Institution (RPI). To keep alive this rich history of the institution, the RPI Alumni Association wanted to develop an exhibit in the VCU Student Commons that will function like a mini visitor center, telling the story of RPI as the institution that formed what is now Virginia Commonwealth University. The exhibit will use thematic timelines and interactive yearbooks to allow visitors to delve into the people, places and social life of Richmond Professional Institute:The Cobblestone Campus.
